Internet Explorer 10 takes everything you love about older versions of the web browser and brings in some new features to make surfing the web easier than ever before.
Though Internet Explorer was once the most popular web browser in the world, it later faced stiff competition from Chrome, Firefox and other browsers. It has a reputation for being the choice among older internet users, but this new version hopes to change all that. Internet Explorer 10 works on any computer using Windows 7 or a later edition, and it allows users to surf the web, view important news stories and keep an eye on their favorite sites.
Capable of working on desktop computers and devices that use a touchscreen, it features a toolbar at the very top and then an address bar beneath. However, the address bar is so close to the tabs that it can sometimes leave you clicking the wrong button or having a hard time finding the tab you want to use. It also comes with a small icon that resembles a gear on the top, and when you click on it, you can gain full access to all the tools available to you. These tools include bookmarking favorite pages screen size adjustment functions.
Performance matters to most online users, and IE definitely increased its performance with this newer version. It lets you play animated clips, GIF files and videos faster than you could in the past. You can also open dozens of tabs at once, but, keep in mind, that a larger number of tabs may slow down your web speed. As with previous versions of IE, you can use the default homepage to see news stories or select a different page.
Enhanced Protected Mode is one of the top features found on IE 10. This new feature protects your computer against hijacks and other security issues. If the web browser detects a site trying to gain access to your computer, it will shut down that site and inform you of what happened via a pop up window. While Internet Explore 10 may not come loaded with all the features found on browsers like Firefox and Chrome, it's a big step up from previous editions, and it's a great choice for those who want a browser that is easy to use.
